What are the BMW Motorrad Days?

The BMW Motorrad Days is one of the largest motorcycle meetups in Europe with test rides, exciting stunt shows, live music, parties, and presentations of the newest models and products from BMW Motorrad. The event takes place every year in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and attracts around 40,000 visitors from over 40 countries.

Where does the BMW Motorrad Days take place?

In Bavaria's Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the parking lot of the Hausbergbahn.

Do I need a ticket, how much does entry cost?

You must purchase a Rider's Pass while there, which entitles you to participate after registration, for some activities like taking part in a test ride or riding at the Enduro Park.

How do I participate in riding activities?

You will sometimes need a Rider's Pass, which entitles you to participate after registration, for active driving activities. You can obtain the Rider's Pass there at one of the information counters, for instance.

Please note that you can only participate if you have a valid motorcycle license (an international motorcycle license for non-EU citizens), an ID, and complete motorcycle protective equipment.

Motorcycle protective equipment includes: Motorcycle helmet with ECE 22 mark, motorcycle gloves (long finger), motorcycle boots / shoes (no sneakers), motorcycle clothing (jacket & pants) with protectors (back and knee at least). Unfortunately, you will not be able to participate without full safety equipment.

Can I test BMW motorcycle models there?

Yes, you can test out current BMW motorcycle models on our guided test drives. Simply register some weeks before the event here on our website. Before you can ride, you must purchase a Rider's Pass. You can obtain this at one of the information counters, for instance.

What options are there for sleeping?

There are fenced-in camping areas. You will need to bring your own tents, sleeping mats, and sleeping bags. There is no surveillance for the camping area. Please do not leave valuables and cash, credit cards, etc., unattended in your tent, because we do not assume any liability for this. Set up your tents at your own risk. 

Please note: There is no mobile home parking on and around the event grounds. If you have a mobile home, please go to the "Am Wank" camping grounds or Grainau (there is a fee, power and water connection).

What about food? What is there to eat?

There are many food and drink options on the event grounds (vegetarian, vegan, Bavarian, and international dishes) available from early in the morning to late in the evening.

What is there for children to do?

Kids are very welcome at the BMW Motorrad Days! There is a kids' course and child care facilities (bouncy castle, face painting etc.) for our younger guests.

I am coming by motorcycle/car, which route should I take? Is there public transportation?

The BMW Motorrad Days experience begins on the way there. Regardless of where you're coming from, you will ride on winding country roads through the middle of the picturesque mountain scenery of the Werdenfelser Land. The landscape around Garmisch-Partenkirchen really invites you to do a few extra laps during the weekend. We have put together the best routes for you here.

You can also reach the BMW Motorrad Days via public transportation. You can ride the Deutsche Bahn directly to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen station, and the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn stops directly at the Hausberg stop on the event grounds.

Where do I park my motorcycle/car?

There is motorcycle parking for all campers directly adjacent to the camping area. There is also parking on the streets Alpspitzstrasse and am Eisstadion. Unfortunately there are no designated parking spaces for cars, please use the public parking in the town.

I am not staying overnight on the event grounds. How do I get to my accommodations in the evening?

In the evening, there are free bus shuttles from the hotels in the area to the BMW Motorrad Days and back. You can get information on travel times and routes at the information counters and from the timetables at the bus loop area on the event grounds.

Which items should I leave at home?

Segways, drones, weapons, drugs, flammable liquids and other dangerous substances, fireworks, etc. are not permitted on the event grounds. In addition, in areas where there are large crowds or other areas specified by the organizer, no bottles, cups, jars, cans, or other items made of glass or other fragile, splintering, or particularly hard material, are allowed. Please also follow the locally designated campsite rules.

Are there any quiet periods in the camping areas?

Generally speaking, we ask you to show respect for other guests at all times, especially at night. Loud speakers and sound systems are not permitted. Please also follow the locally designated campsite and parking rules.

Is grilling permitted in the camping areas?

The use of small and well-maintained charcoal grills with rack or gas cookers is permitted, provided they do not pose an increased risk of fire or that other guests are not excessively bothered by the smell or smoke. Please also follow the locally designated campsite rules.

Are photographs and films taken at the BMW Motorrad Days?

We would like to note that official photographers and film crews commissioned by us are on site at the BMW Motorrad Days. By entering the event grounds, you irrevocably consent to the free use of your image and voice for photographs, live broadcasts, transmissions, and/or recordings of images and/or sound. These will be prepared by the organizer or its agents in connection with the event and you hereby consent to their subsequent use in all current and future media (including, but not limited to, audio and visual media and digital distribution, such as over the internet).

Are dogs permitted on the event grounds?

Dogs must be accompanied and on a lead when outdoors. Attack dogs according to Bavarian dog training regulations are generally prohibited. Exceptions are made for guide dogs or service dogs.

How do I get official BMW Motorrad fan clothing?

While there, you can purchase official BMW Motorrad Days fan t-shirts, hoodies, and caps, and take them home as souvenirs.

Is the BMW Motorrad Days accessible for the disabled?

Disabled parking and disabled toilets are available on the event grounds Generally speaking, most tents and event areas are accessible for those with disabilities.
