THE R 18 SOULFUEL CUSTOMIZATION CONTEST

100 years, 1 winning ride. To celebrate its 100^th anniversary, BMW Motorrad has launched a worldwide competition to see which Motorrad Retailer can create the most thrilling custom R 18 model.

With its design inspired by our history, the BMW R 18 was the only choice for this special 100^th anniversary celebration. Each retailer was permitted to make almost any modifications. The custom bikes had to show ingenuity, imagination, and exceptional quality while staying true to the rebellious spirit of BMW Motorrad.

Check out the two entries below who will represent Canada in the International Semi Finale.

JUDGING CRITERIA

During the international semi-final and worldwide finale, the panel of experts will judge the custom R 18 models based on the following criteria.

Does the custom bike stay true to the spirit of BMW Motorrad?
Do the proportions and overall look of the bike work in harmony with each other?
What’s the level of complexity and quality of the customizations?
Is the finish of the bike, including painting, polishing, and other coatings, of a high quality?
How rideable is the bike?

CONTEST OVERVIEW

The R 18 SoulFuel Customization Contest is made up of three different rounds: the Canadian contest, the international semi-final, and the worldwide finale.

The Canadian Contest

Three BMW Motorrad Retailers were selected to take part in the contest and build their dream, fully customized R 18 model. The Canadian contest is judged by you, our Canadian riders. The two Retailers who receive the most votes will go through to the international semi-final.

The International Semi-final

Our two Canadian winners will go up against 18 other entries from nine different countries and will be judged by a panel of six experts from around the world.

The Worldwide Finale

The six winners from the semi-final will go through to the worldwide finale to be held at BMW Motorrad Welt in September 2023 in Berlin.
